Ted Haas has spent 45 plus years in the parish ministry. He is Minister Emeritus of Grace United Church of Christ, Frederick, Maryland, where he served as pastor for 19 years. He is a 1950 graduate of Muhlenberg College, summa cum laude, graduated from the Lancaster Theological Seminary in 1953 and received his master's degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1976. He served a 2-year assistantship at Christ Reformed Church, Hagerstown from 1953-55 and a 20-year pastorate at First United Church of Christ, Hellertown, PA before being called to serve in Frederick.

Since "retiring," he has served interim pastorates at Christ Church, Hagerstown; St. Paul's Church, Westminster; Church of the Holy Trinity, Hagerstown and Mt. Tabor UCC, Rocky Ridge. In October of 2001, he was called be interim pastor by Incarnation UCC, Emmitsburg, while the congregation seeks a new pastor.

He was a founding member of the Frederick Torch Club, a group of persons who gather monthly for intellectual sharing and early in his tenure in Frederick was a prime mover in the founding of the Frederick area Ministerium. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the Frederick County Library System and has assisted with the campaign for new members as a member of the nominating committee for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra in Frederick.

Ted and his wife, Norine, will celebrate their 46th anniversary this summer, having been happily married since August of 1956. They had one son, Robert, who unfortunately died in 1997, cutting short a promising law career. Bob's Jack Russell terrier, Franklin, has been a family preoccupation (and in charge of their exercise regimen) since that time. He's a lively and loving pet who makes them smile.

Ted loves life and his vocation and is always ready for the next adventure!
