                                                 Town Manager's Report

Streets:

  • Staff installed speed bumps on Chesapeake Ave., El Lincoln Ave, W. North Ave and Timbermill Run

  • Staff worked with the contractor to mill and patch sections of Silo Hill Rd.

  • Staff repaired a number of street lights

  • Staff cleaned East & West Main Street

Water:

  • Rainbow Lake is now full and holding at the spillway level

  • The roughing filters are now being backwashed twice per day and the DE filters are being done once per week

  • Staff has replaced the pump in Well No. 2 and it is back on line

  • Staff  has repaired another leak on Tract Road

  •  

  • Water production and consumption.  We produced and purchased an average of 346,717 gpd.  We consumed an average of 301,983 gpd 

    • The difference is "Backwash Water" ...(12.9%).   We purchased 349,700 gals. of water from MSM this month.

    • 53.0% of this water came from wells 

    •   3.3% of this water came from Mt. St. Mary's

    • 43.7%  of this water came from Rainbow Lake 

Wastewater:

  • The overland and flow treatment system is now up and running for the season

  • Staff has repaired transfer pump no. 1

  • We received about 6.4 inches of precipitation this month (the average is 4.5 inches)

    • We have a precipitation deficit of 0.2" (down from 3.4" last month) over the last six months, the average precipitation for the period from Dec. 1 thru May 31 is 22.2" and we received 22.0" for that period

  • Wastewater Treatment:

    • We treated an average of 613,000 gpd (consumed 301,983 gpd) which means that 50.7% of the wastewater treated this month was "wild water".  

    • We experienced no spills of untreated sewerage during the month of May

  • We exceeded the plant's design capacity seven days in the month of May

  • 05/29    881,000 gal

Trash: 

  • Trash pickup will remain Monday and Thursday for the Month of June

Parks:

  • Staff put sand in the horse shoe pits

  • Staff put new carpet mulch around the playground equipment in Memorial Park

  • Staff performed the monthly maintenance inspection

  • Staff installed a speed-bump and stop sign in Memorial Park

  • Staff worked on the town swimming pool preparing it for the season
