Vote for whoever you want.
Just know who they are

3/14/04

This has been a pretty quiet week for politics. This is, however, an election year. To get started, get to know the candidates for President.

I was talking to a friend, who is now in college, the other day. I asked him if he had voted in the Primary election, and he said that he hadn't registered in time, but that he'll vote in the General. He said that he would vote for Bush because he, "respects the man."

I couldn't help but wince. Just about anyone who is popular enough to attract broad public popularity for a campaign is admirable, but this isn't necessarily grounds for voting for them.

I found out later that he didn't even know who John Kerry is.

This is a big problem right now, and the best way I can help is to encourage as many people as I can to become better informed.

I assume most people know plenty about President Bush. If you don't know much about John Kerry, however, visit www.JohnKerry.com. Look up where he stands on the big issues. Look at his biography.

It's ok if you disagree with him after reading his plans - Just know who he is before you make up your mind over who you're voting for!
