Mr. Philip May Sr.

Philip Eugene May Sr., 65, of Keysville Road, Emmitsburg, Md., passed away Friday, April 1, 2005 at his home with family and friends by his side.

Born October 23, 1939 in Carroll County, Md., he was the son of the late William H. and Malinda L. (Reaver) May.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also had a passion for cars, working on them, and enjoyed auto racing. He was a family man who enjoyed loving and caring for his family and friends.

He worked for Sperry Ford in Emmitsburg for 20 years and was owner and operator of May's Auto Repair in Emmitsburg.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Elsie E. Stouter May, whom he married August 1, 1959; one daughter, Barbara R. Orndorff and husband Alan of Fairfield, Pa.; two sons, Philip E. May Jr. and companion Donna Hilton of Emmitsburg, and Randy S. May and companion Mary Hilton of Emmitsburg; two granddaughters, Debra L. Orndorff and Stacy L. Orndorff; four brothers, Walter T. May of New Windsor, Md., George R. May and wife Linda of Union Bridge, Md., John A. May and wife Virginia of New Windsor, Md., and Charles L. May and wife Bobbi of Westminster, Md.; one sister, Virginia M. Beacham and husband Phil of Westminster, Md.; one brother-in-law, James W. Beacham; one sister-in-law, Vada C. May; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Ralph A. May, William H. May Jr., James E. May, Robert L. May, and Carl U. May; and one sister, Mary M. Beacham.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements were made by J.L. Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg, Md.
