Mrs. Mary Krom

Mrs. Mary Alice "Smith" Krom, 91, of Mountain View Rd., Emmitsburg, died Sunday, May 14 at St. Catherine's Nursing Center, Emmitsburg.

Born November 8, 1914 in Rocky Ridge, she was a daughter of the late Edward John and Ruth Riffle Smith.

Mrs. Krom was predeceased by her husband, John William Krom on December 13, 1986.

She was a member of Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church, Emmitsburg and the Emmitsburg Senior Citizens.

Surviving are three sons, John David Krom of Laneview, Va.; Paul Joseph Krom of Spring Mills, Pa.; Philip Wayne Krom of Emmitsburg; four brothers and sisters, Ed Smith Jr. of Emmitsburg; Ruth Hobbs of Emmitsburg, Lewis Smith of Rocky Ridge, Elizabeth Richardson of East Berlin, Pa.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Krom is predeceased by six brothers and sisters: Charles Smith, Jim Smith, Karl Smith, Jack Smith, Betty Hahn and Helen Althoff.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 17, from the Skiles Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, Md., with her pastor, Rev. Jon Greenstone officiating.

Interment will be in Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery.
