Mr. Lewis Cool

Lewis A. Cool, 76, of Emmitsburg, died Friday, April 18, 2008, at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 26, 1931, he was the son of the late George J. and Alice (Topper) Cool. He was the husband of the late Dorothy E. (Wantz) Cool.

He was a warehouse clerk at St. Joseph's College and had also worked at the National Fire Academy. He served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1953.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, L. Girard and Christine Cool of Emmitsburg; granddaughter, Jennifer Cool and fiancé Gary Glass of Rocky Ridge; brothers, Albert, Donald and Joseph Cool of Emmitsburg; and John Cool of Thurmont; sisters, Thelma Deatherage and sister Angela Cool of Emmitsburg; Mildred Sponseller of Hanover, Pa.; and Frances Hemler of Taneytown; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by brothers Cletus and Allen Cool, and sisters Louise Peters and Mary Alice Cool.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 22, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg, with the Rev. Steven P. Trzecieski as celebrant. Interment will be in the new St. Joseph's Cemetery.
