Mrs. Helen Louise Sanders

Mrs. Helen Louise Sanders, 99, of Emmitsburg, died Friday, Jan. 4, at St. Catherine's Nursing Center in Emmitsburg. Born Dec. 19, 1908 in Emmitsburg, she was the daughter of the late Charles P. and Louise (O'Toole) Keepers. She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Leonard James Sanders in 1995.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Emmitsburg, and a member of the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Post 6658 in Emmitsburg.

Surviving are a daughter, Rosemary S. Mick of Emmitsburg; grandchildren, Jessica Elaine Keysar of Gaithersburg, Kevin Patrick Mick and wife Debra of Westminster; great-grandchildren, Laurel Anne Mick and David Michael Mick, both of Westminster; step-great-grandchildren, Kevin Dixon Tervala, Justin Garrett Tervala, and Julie Katherine Tervala, all of Westminster; a sister, Theresa Orndorff of Emmitsburg, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by brothers Paul, Cecil Patrick, Louis, Charles E., and Leo A. Keepers; and sisters Frances Rohrbaugh and Mary Keepers.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg, with the Rev. Stephen P. Trzecieski, C.M. celebrant. Interment will follow in the New St. Joseph's Cemetery in Emmitsburg. Friends are invited to join the family for Rosary prayers beginining at 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either, St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., P.O. Box 376, Emmitsburg, MD 21727, St. Catherine's Nursing Center, 331 S. Seton Ave., Emmitsburg, MD 21727, or to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.

Arrangements are by the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Emmitsburg.
