Rebecca M. "Becky" Topper

Rebecca M. "Becky" Topper, age 85, of Emmitsburg, died on Monday morning, Jan. 3, 2011, at St. Catherine's Nursing Center in Emmitsburg.

Born March 27, 1925, in Emmitsburg, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Helen R. (Myers) Topper.

She was retired from Cambridge Rubber Co. in Taneytown after 37 years service with the company until its closing. Becky was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Emmitsburg and a member of the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Surviving are her daughter, Nancy Wiles and husband, Bruce, of Thurmont; grandsons, Mark Wiles and fiancé, Erin Stansbury, of Thurmont, Cory Wiles and wife, Joni, of Thurmont; great-grandchildren, Cooper and Georgia Wiles; sisters, Anna Little of Emmitsburg, Geraldine Sites and husband, Lloyd, of Fairfield, Pa., Lucille Jackson and husband, Warren, of California; brothers, John Topper and wife, Viola, of Emmitsburg and Charles E. Topper of Frederick. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by sisters, Josephine Krietz and Betty Kaas; brothers, Dave, Paul, Ted, Bill, Joseph, and Russell Topper.
